Throughout my time as a special education teacher at Wildwood, I have had the amazing opportunity to work with the second, third, fourth, and fifth grade teams. Since my first year, I have taught reading and language arts in the resource room for second, third, and fourth graders. Additionally, I have taught fourth and fifth grade math in the resource room, as well. I have also had the amazing experience of providing in-class support for reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies for students in third, fourth, and fifth grade. Throughout the past four years, I have taught a reading class during first period at the high school. Due to my widespread schedule, I have been able to work closely with many colleagues and students of all ages and abilities.
During my current fifth year at Wildwood, it is my goal to continue to devote myself to this amazing school and district. I assure you that my enthusiasm for educating children will be apparent while I work with your child. I believe that given enough time and support, all children can learn. While working with your children, I will try my hardest to create meaningful, engaging lessons that will inspire and enable the students to be genuine, compassionate, and well-rounded individuals. Each day, I will strive to develop positive, nurturing relationships with the students in order to give them the confidence they need to raise their self-esteem. This year, I am especially excited to work closely with the fourth grade students and team in order to ensure that all children receive engaging, high-quality instruction that follows the fourth grade general education curriculum.
Communicating and collaborating with parents is an integral part of any child’s education. I will be sure to continually inform you about your child’s progress in class. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time. You are more than welcome to email me at kelko@mtlakes.org.
I am truly excited about being a part of this incredible, tight-knit school and district!
