The Gypsy Robe is presented each year by Friends of the Arts to a senior in the cast or crew who has gone above and beyond and made a significant contribution to the success of the show. Often this individual has helped to encourage a sense of community and joy within the production. Based on the Gypsy Robe which has been a Broadway tradition for decades, the MLHS robe honors a crew member, or a member of the cast who has never had a lead, as the unsung hero of the production. It is not awarded based on the amount of years the recipient has been involved in MLHS musicals, but on the significance of his or her contribution. The Robe is taken out only on this occasion and is on permanent display in the school lobby throughout the year.
Congratulations to all of our past Gypsy Robe honorees!
