Fundraising ActivitiesThe H&SA has three general fundraisers each year where the funds raised are used to pay for our programs, services, publications and communications, and to support the schools and community with our grants and awards. We also have several fundraisers that target more specific programs. If you would like to help us with fundraising or to learn more, please contact Jennifer L'Estrange, firstname.lastname@example.org.General Fundraisers:H&SA Annual Bake SaleThis is a bake sale like no other! Started in 1959 by seventh grade mothers who raised $150 for their library, the bake sale tradition continues and is currently H&SA's largest fundraiser. Workshops are held in the fall to prepare a delicious assortment of foods, delivered to your door. Traditionally, foods are ordered before the first Tuesday of November, but we try to have extras available at the high school on the day of the sale. Fresh baked goods are also available on the day of the big sale.
Family Portraits by the Lake
Since 2007, we have provided our Portraits by the Lake fundraiser. A professional photographer will take pictures of your family in a beautiful setting, either inside or outside. You can purchase your pictures in a variety of sizes, perfect for holiday cards or for hanging over the mantle. This week long event is typically scheduled for late September and/or early October, when the autumn colors at the lake are spectacular. Be sure to make an appointment in early September. Act quickly, you won't want to miss this opportunity!
Back to School Supplies
Our newest fundraiser makes life a lot easier for our Wildwood parents! The H&SA collects the back to school supply lists for each grade in Wildwood, puts together a back to school supply package and has it ready for your child on the first day of school. You place your order in the spring and don't have to scramble the week before school starts. What's better than that?
Fundraisers for Specific Programs & Schools:
Wildwood Cultural Arts
Wildwood Cultural Arts has been bringing artistically rich performances to Wildwood Elemantary School for over a decade. With the enthusiastic support of the administration, faculty and staff, Wildwood Cultural Arts is able to bring programs to each grade every year. Throughout the school year, the Wildwood Cultural Arts programs enrich the curriculum with music, dance, performance art, creative writing, story telling and other art forms. The Cultural Arts program at Wildwood is funded through the generosity of friends and families during our fall and spring fundraisers.
Briarcliff holds several fundraisers during the school year. The proceeds of these fundraisers go toward the 8th grade trip. The 8th grade trip is truly a highlight from the Middle School years, but is also a costly one. Funds raised for the 8th grade trip are equally divided between the 6th, 7th and 8th grades and are used to help defray the cost of each class's trip. The fundraising packets will be coming home, so please keep an eye out.
Scholarship Fund Drive
The H&SA awards limited grants to graduating seniors of MLHS to assist them in meeting their college expenses. Each year, we ask the community for donations that will augment the H&SA Scholarship Fund.
This is an easy programs where families and members of the community work together to clip box tops and labels from hundreds of participating brands of food and non-food items. We earn cash for our schools through the everyday activities of buying groceries, shopping online, and making purchases with a credit card. Simply cut box tops off these items and drop them off in the Wildwood main hall or at the Mountain Lakes Public Library. Visit the Box Tops website to learn more about the Box Tops program.
