The Mountain Lakes School District
promotes a supportive learning environment where every student is challenged, inspired, and empowered to cultivate the intellectual curiosity, skills, and knowledge needed to contribute as a responsible and productive citizen of the global community. That is why we are proud to be expanding our program with a summer session, the Mountain Lakes Summer Academy, that offers students the opportunity to enroll in advanced credit, preview, and K-8 enrichment courses. The majority of our classes will be led by members of our talented faculty.

Credit Bearing Courses are for students seeking to accelerate their academic program. Because these courses are equivalent in rigor and content to our full-year curriculum at Mountain Lakes High School, students can take credit bearing courses for credit at their respective schools. It is recommended that prospective students refer to their school’s policy on credit transfers before registering. Credit Bearing courses will meet:
Chemistry: Monday, June 29 - Friday July 31: five weeks, five hours daily for a total of 120 hours.
Computer Science: Monday, June 29-Wednesday, July 15 or Thursday, July 16th-Friday, July 31 (five hours daily for a total of 60 hours per course)
Math (Algebra I, Geometry, & Algebra II): Monday, July 6- Friday July 31: four weeks, two hours daily instruction (one hour live, one hour question/answer). Math credit-bearing courses will require students to complete additional work independently via Apex Learning beyond the two hour course time (120 hours total).

Preview Courses are for students seeking an introduction and academic support for a science, math, humanities and/or literature class that they have enrolled in for the fall . To best prepare the students throughout the program, teachers will introduce the main concepts of each course and provide opportunities for the students to actively engage with the material. These two-hour courses also provide students with the flexibility to add additional offerings to their summer schedule. Preview courses meet for four weeks; two hours per day (unless otherwise noted).

K-8 Enrichment courses, including study skills & the arts, are two-hour classes offered on various dates throughout our summer session. Uniquely designed by our faculty, these enrichment courses will allow students to sharpen skills and explore new interests. The specific course information & prices for each of these classes can be found HERE.
