2019 Summer Academy
Monday, June 24th-Friday, August 2nd

The Mountain Lakes School District
promotes a supportive learning environment where every student is challenged, inspired, and empowered to cultivate the intellectual curiosity, skills, and knowledge needed to contribute as a responsible and productive citizen of the global community. That is why we are proud to be expanding our program with a summer session, the Mountain Lakes High School Summer Academy, that offers students the opportunity to enroll in advance credit, preview, and enrichment courses. For the 2019 summer session, the majority of our classes, led by members of our talented faculty, will be housed at Mountain Lakes High School.

Advance credit courses are for students seeking to accelerate their academic program. Because these courses are equivalent in rigor and content to our full-year curriculum at Mountain Lakes High School, students can take advance credit courses for credit at their respective schools. It is recommended that prospective students refer to their school’s policy on credit transfers before registering. Advance credit courses meet Monday, June 24th to Friday, August 2nd, four hours daily for a total of 120 hours.

Students seeking an introduction and academic support for a science, math, world language, and/or literature class they have enrolled in for the fall should register for a preview course. To best prepare the students throughout the six-week period, teachers will introduce the main concepts of each course and provide opportunities for the students to actively engage with the material. These two-hour courses also provide students with the flexibility to add additional offerings to their summer schedule. Preview courses meet Monday, June 24th to Friday, August 2nd, two hours daily for a total of 60 hours.

Enrichment courses, including study skills & the arts, are two-hour classes offered on various dates throughout our summer session. Uniquely designed by our faculty, these enrichment courses will allow students to sharpen skills and explore new interests. Please note the specific course information & prices for each of these classes in our summer catalog.
