Human Resources
About Us
The Human Resources Department supports the Mountain Lakes School District in its mission to:
-
Ensure that all students demonstrate mastery of defined skills and knowledge that will empower them to be productive, responsible, self-directed citizens of the global community.
-
Promote safe and supportive learning environments that challenge and inspire students while cultivating their intellectual curiosity.
-
Provide adequate resources to maintain the successful educational partnership that exists among staff, family, and community.
-
Foster the emotional, social, and physical development of our students.
-
Provide a dynamic and continuously evolving curriculum that addresses academic preparation and personal resiliency that includes the life-long learning skills of self- awareness, self-direction, and perspective consciousness.
As such, our focus is on the students of our district and we seek teachers, administrators, and support staff that best meet the requirements in fulfilling that mission. By working together with the district's administrators and the business office, the human resources department aspires to develop a supportive workplace designed to encourage staff teamwork, innovation and creativity. To that end, human resources strives to assist the district's administrative team in meeting goals that focus on maintaining practices that:
-
Ensure every member of the Mountain Lakes educational community possesses inherent worth and that mutual respect guides all personal interactions. Towards this end, support is provided to assist our staff in achieving a positive work/life balance with a focus on physical and emotional wellness;
-
Recognize the achievements of our staff and their contributions to the school district and the community at-large;
-
Implement a total rewards program that includes a competitive salary guide and a health benefits program that matches the needs of our staff and their families; and
-
Provide an "open door" for staff to encourage open communication, feedback and discussion with the knowledge that any discussions will be handled in an unbiased, confidential and timely manner.

Absence Management
If you need to be absent on a school day, you must enter your absence in Frontline Absence Management. All absences must be entered at least two (2) hours prior to the start of the school day - this allows time for Frontline to contact substitutes - if needed. If you have an emergency situation that prevents you from entering an absence prior to the cut off time for your school, you must immediately notify the main office at your school that you will need to be absent. If you need to cancel an absence within an hour of the start of the school day, you will not be able to do so in Absence Management. Please call the main office at your school to notify them. If a substitute has been assigned to your absence, please make every effort to speak with someone at the school so that the sub can be notified that they will not be needed for the coverage.
