November Board of Election Candidate Information
The upcoming Annual School Board Election is on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Petitions are available at the Mountain Lakes Board of Education Office located at 400 Boulevard in Mountain Lakes. All petitions are due to the Morris County Clerk's Office no later than Monday, July 31st at 4:00 pm.
The legal requirements to become a Board member include: the ability to read and write, US citizenship and one year's residency in the school district. The individual may not have interest in or any contract with, or claim against, the Board. They may not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body, or be appointed to a paid position in the Mountain Lakes School District, and must be registered and qualified to vote in the district.
