    BRIARCLIFF CROSS COUNTRY 2017

    JOIN BRIARCLIFF’S FALL SPORTS TEAM!

Running cross country is about more than becoming physically stronger and healthier, it’s about developing self-confidence and camaraderie with your fellow teammates, plus....having fun!

The team is open to any and all students who wish to be a part of something great. If you’re not a fast runner, don’t sweat it! Through training and conditioning, your abilities will improve over the course of the cross country season, helping you to become your personal best. Here are a few things about our team...

    SPORTS PHYSICALS

All students wishing to participate in cross country must complete a sports physical with their family physician. NO STUDENT WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICES OR IN MEETS WITHOUT COMPLETING A SPORTS PHYSICAL. Complete your sports physical over the summer so you can begin practicing with the team right away.

The school physician will be conducting physicals at Briarcliff on Tuesday, September 12 for students who are unable to see their family physician. Please contact Nurse Renna for details. For inschool physicals, part A of the Annual PreAthletic Physical Form must be completed and turned in to Nurse Renna no later than MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11.

Annual PreAthletic Physical forms are available in the nurse’s office, or may be downloaded from the main BC website. Scroll down to the blue Quick Link on the left side. There are two parts to the form.

    PRACTICES & MEETS

Practices are held every day that there is not a meet, and will take place from 2:503:30. We meet at the track. Please be sure you have a pair of running sneakers. We will hold a mandatory team meeting immediately after school in the gym on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, and our first practice will be held on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13.

Team members should plan on attending all practices. Remember, you are part of a TEAM, and your coaches and fellow teammates are counting on you to be there. Excessive unexcused absences will result in ineligibility to participate in meets.
