Junior IT Technician


The Junior IT Technician’s role is to ensure proper technology operation so that end users can accomplish their education delivery goals. This includes prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide superior customer service to Helpdesk requests, support personnel, and fellow employees
  • Demonstrate good social skills in a professional environment and communicate effectively with staff
  • Resolve issues in a timely manner, including education of end-users on technology usage as needed
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Effectively prioritize busy workload to ensure high priority projects are completed first
  • Setup and install new equipment and relocate existing equipment as needed
  • Management and troubleshooting of installed software
  • Keep server room, store rooms, and work area in an orderly manner
  • Enter data into computer terminal to store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements
  • Provide flexibility in learning new technology uses/management in education K-12 environment

Basic Qualifications

  • Understanding of basic computer/network concepts and terms
  • Working knowledge of Mac and Windows based end user devices (Mac Books, iPads, Windows 7 & 10, etc.)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Experience with printer driver installation and basic troubleshooting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfortable communicating in person and via phone with peers, managers, and vendors
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 - 10 hours at a time and the ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to position self under desks, ladders, and traverse stairs
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric


Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working in a K-12 technology environment
  • Experience troubleshooting PCs, scanners, basic and wireless networking
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining laser and LaserJet printers
  • Experience with Google G Suite apps and Gmail management
  • Experience with inventory management
  • Network Certification or equivalent experience/knowledge
  • Certified or equivalent experience/knowledge computer components and repair
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a production infrastructure environment
  • Ability to manage multiple customer requests simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize work based on department and production objectives
  • Self-motivated interest to learn new technology and concepts in education
